Ingredients:
- For the dough:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, chilled and diced
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup ice water
- For the filling:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
- 1/2 cup cooked crab meat, flaked
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Dough Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Mix in egg, then water a tablespoon at a time until dough comes together.
- Wrap in plastic and chill for 1 hour.
Filling Instructions:
- Heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add tomatoes, shrimp, crab meat, parsley, salt, and pepper. Cook for a few minutes until heated through.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out dough and cut into rounds.
- Spoon filling onto one half of each round, fold over, and crimp edges to seal.
- Place on a baking sheet and brush with beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
