Ingredients:
- 1 lb dried navy beans
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup bourbon
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
Instructions:
- Soak the beans overnight in plenty of water.
- Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
- Drain the beans, then place them in a Dutch oven or large casserole dish with the chopped onion.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the garlic, bourbon, molasses, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and dry mustard until well combined.
- Pour this mixture over the beans and onion. Stir until well mixed.
- Cover the dish and bake for about 4 hours, or until the beans are tender and the flavors are well combined. Check every hour and add more water or bourbon if needed.
- Serve warm alongside your smoked brisket. Enjoy!
