Bourbon Baked Beans

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb dried navy beans
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard

Instructions:

  1. Soak the beans overnight in plenty of water.
  2. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  3. Drain the beans, then place them in a Dutch oven or large casserole dish with the chopped onion.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the garlic, bourbon, molasses, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and dry mustard until well combined.
  5. Pour this mixture over the beans and onion. Stir until well mixed.
  6. Cover the dish and bake for about 4 hours, or until the beans are tender and the flavors are well combined. Check every hour and add more water or bourbon if needed.
  7. Serve warm alongside your smoked brisket. Enjoy!
