Philippine Garlic Rice

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of cooked rice (preferably a day old)
  • 8-10 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the garlic and sauté until it's golden brown. Be careful not to burn it as it can turn bitter.
  3. Set aside a little bit of the fried garlic for garnish later.
  4. Add the rice to the pan with the remaining garlic. Break up any clumps and stir well, so the oil and garlic are evenly distributed.
  5. Cook for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the rice is heated through.
  6. Season with salt to taste, then remove from heat.
  7. Before serving, garnish with the fried garlic you set aside.
