Ingredients:
- 2 cups of sugar
- 2 cups of water
- 2 cups of freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 12 lemons)
- 2 tablespoons of lemon zest
- 2 cups of fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let it cool completely. This is your simple syrup.
- Once the simple syrup is cooled, add the lemon juice and lemon zest. Stir to combine.
- Churn the mixture in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions. If you don't have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a shallow dish and freeze. Every 30 minutes for the first few hours, stir the mixture to break up any ice crystals.
- Once the sorbet is frozen, serve it with fresh sliced strawberries on top.
Enjoy this refreshing dessert after your meal!
